A Visitor Visa (Temporary Resident Visa) lets you visit Canada for tourism, to see family or for short business. Most visitors may stay up to 6 months.
A Study Permit lets you study at a designated learning institution (DLI). You need a Letter of Acceptance first, and in most cases a Provincial Attestation Letter (PAL) from the province.
Both are applied for online with IRCC (Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada), then you give biometrics at a visa application centre.

- Bank statement for the last 6 months and proof of funds
- Job NOC / employment letter, salary certificate and tax return (or trade licence)

- Letter of Acceptance from a designated learning institution (study permit)
- Provincial Attestation Letter, where the province requires one (study permit)
- Statement of purpose and academic documents with an English test result (study permit)
The visa officer decides from your papers, so the file must tell a clear story: why you are going, who pays, and why you will return. Upload clear scans and explain any gaps — in your studies, work history or bank balance — in a short letter.

Fees and requirements are set by IRCC and change often — for example the proof-of-funds amount for students. We confirm the current figures with you at the start.
- The $185 CAD shown covers the visitor visa fee plus the biometrics fee. A study permit has a different government fee.
- Do not pay anyone who promises a visa or a job offer for money. Only IRCC can approve an application.

Do I need biometrics?

What is a Provincial Attestation Letter?
Many study permit applicants now need a PAL from the province where the school is. The school or the province explains how to get it.
Can I work while studying?
Study permit holders may be allowed to work limited hours off campus while classes are in session, if their permit says so.
Can my family come with me?
A spouse or children may be able to apply for their own visas. Eligibility depends on your programme, so ask us before you apply.
