The UK Standard Visitor visa lets you come to the United Kingdom for a holiday, to visit family and friends, or for short business meetings. You can normally stay for up to 6 months and you may not work or study for a degree.
The Student visa is for a full course at a licensed UK university or college. You apply after you have an offer and a Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies (CAS) from your university.
Both are applied for online on GOV.UK, followed by a biometrics appointment at the visa application centre. GETA guides you through the form, the financial evidence and the appointment.

Standard Visitor visa
- You genuinely intend to visit for a limited time and leave before the visa ends.
- You can pay for your trip and your stay, or somebody can pay for you.
- You have strong ties to Bangladesh — a job, a business, family or property.
Student visa
- You have a CAS from a licensed UK sponsor.
- You meet the English language requirement for your course.
- You can show enough money for your course fees and living costs.

- Valid passport (at least 6 months validity, with blank pages) and all old passports
- Recent passport-size photo (white background)
- Bank statement for the last 6 months, with a bank solvency certificate
- Job NOC / employment letter, or trade licence and TIN certificate for business owners
- Hotel booking and flight itinerary (visit)
- Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies (CAS) and offer letter (student)
- Academic certificates and transcripts, and an English test result (student)
- TB test certificate from an approved clinic (student, stays over 6 months)
Every document must be clear, recent and consistent — names, dates and amounts must match across the bank statement, job letter and application form. Documents that are not in English need a certified translation.

A refused visa stays on your record and you must declare it in future applications, so it is safer to apply with a complete, honest file.

How long does a UK visit visa take?
Usually about 3 weeks after your biometrics appointment. Priority services exist for a higher fee. Apply well before your travel date.
Can I work on a Standard Visitor visa?
No. You cannot work, study for a degree, or live in the UK for long periods on a visit visa.
Do I need an interview?
Most applicants are not interviewed. An entry clearance officer may contact you for more information.
How much money must a student show?
Your first-year tuition fee (less anything already paid) plus monthly living costs set by the Home Office, held for 28 consecutive days. The exact amount changes, so we confirm it for you at the time.
Does GETA guarantee the visa?
No agent can. The decision is made only by the UK Home Office. We make sure your file is complete, correct and well presented.
